Quickstart guide for ADSB#
Quickstart guide for ADSB# in Italian
Translation by Roberto Rizzardi
Covers version 1.0.11.1
As usual, translations appreciated.
Construction guide for a simple ADS-B antenna project.
Quickstart guides for SDR# by Youssef Touil. www.sdrsharp.com
The SDR# QuickStarts contain illustrations for an older version of SDR#. While the main screen design has changed, the basic information in the QuickStarts is still applicable. All appropriate updates and changes will be in the next version of the QuickStart as soon as the final (until the next revision) SDR# layout is completed.
NOTE: I’ve been asked by several people for translations of the pdf into other languages. If anyone is willing to contribute, I’d gladly post here with due attribution. I’ve been asked for French, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Danish, and German. Of course, any language would be welcome.

Hello,
I must modify ADSB# “Decoder Confidence” value “4″ to “3″ but nothing …
I post something here :

If the dongle is on the same machine as VRS, try changing the IP to 127.0.0.1 instead of using the local IP of that machine (192.168.0.1).
The only things I can suggest is that having your antenna too close to your wi-fi hub will overload the front end noise that ADSB# will try to decode into raw hex data, and that I see you are using a dongle with an E4000 tuner. While the E4000 is a great tuner, some of them have trouble with 1090 as it’s right at the beginning of the frequency gap.
You can try using the osmocom rtl-test to check the frequency limits of your dongle. It’s available at http://sdr.osmocom.org/trac/raw-attachment/wiki/rtl-sdr/RelWithDebInfo.zip, in the /x32 folder.
This is a command line tool, and the proper command will be;
rtl-test -tGood day!
Is it possible to predefine the step-values from AM NFM ….?
For example: When I change to AM the step is always 1Khz. But I want it have fixed to
5 Khz.
Would be nice if you could help me, I don’t know another E-Mail, where I could ask.
Thanx a lot.
best regards
Bern
Requests and questions like that are best posted in the newsgroup http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/SDRSharp/.
I just (1/11/2012) installed SDR# on my WIN7 computer, in accordance with the process outlined in the Jan 2013 QST magtzine, using the version “Dev” – the upper left corner of the SDR screen shows SDR# v1.0.0.1110. My issue –
The screen display on my computer does not quite match the screen shots from the magzine or your quick start guide. In particular, the frequency displays, and apparently the functions, appear to bt different. Mine shows VFO freq above the spectrum display and a Shift freq in the Radio control box. How are these supposed to be used?

I’ll be updating soon to include the new frequency entry system. But a quick explanation. If you click on the uppper or lower part of any digint, you increase or decrease that nuber. Also. if you place your mouse pointer over the leftmost (or any other) digit, direct keybard entry starts at that position.
For example, if you are tuned to 350,000,000 and you wish to tune to 470,000,000, place your mouse over the 3, and enter 47, and then enter.
Direct tuning entry can start at any position and use andy number of available digits. If the entered digits do not include the ones position, and enter will enable the new frequency. If a digit is entered at the ones position, the enter is unnecessry and the program will change frequency as the ones digit is entered. Do not use the comma while entering a frequency, as this is only used by the programto make the display easier to read.
Drag tuning withn the FFT or Waterfall remains unchanged. Simply left click and hold your mouse, and drag either left or right as desired. You will also notice taht the “center” frequency is o longer displayed or required for frequency ently.
The radio panel does not look like that in my copy. Its up on top and I can not figure out how to control it. When I enter a new frequency and move the mouse it dissapears(sp?). Please help.
Working on the new version and I should have it up soon.
There’s a quick explanation of the tuning in a post or two above this one.
Hey – I got it – dumb me – I was not hittin enter – Thanks.
